Ameco finishes 4C-check for second Boeing737-200 of Air Kazakstan

On December 1st, a Boeing 737-200 of Kazakstan Airlines flew into Ameco to receive a 4C-check. It is the second time for Ameco to carry out maintenance for this company since March,2001.

Ameco signed a 2-year Material Supply Agreement with Honeywell

November 12£¬ Ameco signed a Material Supply Agreement with Honeywell International Inc. It will be effective for the next two years. It is based on an expired contract between Allied Signal Inc. (HPG - Hardware Product Group). Allied Signal has merged with Honeywell to Honeywell HPG.The contract 
reflects on 3295 different partnumbers which will be provided by Honeywell exclusively. This will guarantee a high overall price benefit for Ameco.
By a close monitoring of the Ameco consumption, Honeywell will replenish their stocked quantities in Beijing which enormously shortens the delivery time.

Ameco aroused great attention in the Dubai Air Show 

The 7th Dubai Air Show was held during the period from Nov. 4 to 8 in Dubai, the Commercial center of United Arab Emirates. As the only exhibitor in the air show from P.R. China, Ameco¡¯s attendance was quite a hit in the exhibition. In the opening day of the air show, Ameco¡¯s booth was first visited by the Emir of United Arab Emirates and later on, by many other important person, such as the ambassador of Azerbaijan, the delegation from Ethiopia and a number of top heads in other airlines from the Middle East. 

During the Air Show, Dubai Airwing and Ameco achieved a common understanding regarding cooperation on projects of modification for B747 electronics. Through face to face communication, Customers in the Middle East, through Ameco¡¯s presence, acquired a better understanding of Chinese MRO providers. Also with this opportunity, Ameco learned about different requirements of customers.

Ameco also became the focus of the press domestic and abroad. Interviews were given by Air transport World, MRO management, MBC TV station, Gulf News, Xinhua News Agency and Oriental Daily News. Xinhua journalists stated that in the past few years the trade volume between China and Middle East increased drastically, unparalleled by the vacancy of Chinese MRO providers in the Middle East market. Now with Ameco¡¯s presence in the market, the vacancy was filled, which adds credits to Ameco.

Currently, there are 111 airlines operating 784 aircraft in the Middle East, which creates a big potential and attracts strong competition in its MRO market. In 1998, Ameco successfully performed a B747 2C check + Strut Mod. for Kuwait Airways. With its quality and TAT accepted by the customer, Ameco¡¯s product of airframe overhaul was able to enter the Middle East market. Later on, Ameco offered airframe overhaul and maintenance for B747, B737, B767 of Saudi, Iran Air, Egypt Air and Dubai Airwing. With its good service, Ameco obtained a certain share of market in the Middle East.

Ameco completed Boeing777 3C-check for Lauda Air

November 6, 2001, a Boeing777-200 aircraft (S/N 28699) left Beijing carrying out revenue flight OS426 upon the completion of 3C-check on it by Ameco. Lauda Air became the first international customer of Ameco for Boeing777 3C-check . The maintenance representatives of Lauda were very satisfied with the TAT and quality. They expressed to be expecting the next cooperation with Ameco.

Ameco started to develop the capability of 777 maintenance since 1998. Large numbers of instructors, technicians were sent abroad to accept Boeing¡¯s technical training. Ameco has ability of 777-200 C-check approved by CAAC in 2000, and performed it for Air China¡¯s fleet. In 2001, Ameco obtained approval from CAAC and JAA for Boeing777-200 3C-check. Ameco is continually expanding the deeper check on Boeing 777. 

Besides providing 777 maintenance services, Ameco Aviation College (AAC) is able to offer Boeing777-200 type-rating courses and Engine Run-up courses. In this September, 5 technicians from Lufthansa Technik successfully completed training offered by AAC to perform engine run-up on 777aircraft equipped with the PW4000 engine.

Testing-21 capability added to the list

In the beginning of November, Ameco Test cell successfully conducted Testing-21 checkout on PW4056 Phase III engine P727503 (Air China), PW4460 Phase III engine P723884 (China Eastern) and PW4158 Phase III engine P728503 (China Northern). These tests are necessary to make Ameco the first MRO company which has been validated to perform Testing-21 for Boeing series engines. So far Ameco is also the only company which can perform testing-21 for PW4460 besides the OEM.

Ameco sets up new image

In the afternoon of Oct.19, Ameco held its Visual Identity Manual hand-over ceremony in company conference room. General Managers of Ameco, Mr. Ma Kuiliang and Mr. Walter Heerdt, Executive Directors and Mr. Lin Jian, Vice President of Power Create Design Company, which undertook the design and compilation of the manual, participated the meeting. 
Ameco¡¯s campaign on CI was launched in March of last year and since last October started cooperation with Power Create. After thorough investigation and contacts with Ameco, Power Create upgraded and standardized Ameco¡¯s logo, the style of which and the special industry Ameco is in, feature its overall identification system. The modern and integrated image facilitates Ameco to better communicate its minds and culture to the public.

737 D-Check signed with Inner Mongolia

On Oct.17, 01, agreement on two Boeing 737 D-Check was signed between Ameco and Air China Inner Mongolia Branch, Mr. Peng Guiyun, General Manager of which raised a high expectation to Ameco and expected more extensive cooperation with the latter.

737 D-Check signed with Tian Jin

On September 29, 01, Ameco signed the fifth 737 D-Check agreement with Air China Tian Jin Branch. The leaders of Tian Jian Branch highly affirmed the work Ameco did in the past period of time and raised a higher expectation to the latter. Ameco finished B767 8C+S8C checks for Egypt air 

In early September, Ameco finished the B767 8C+S8C checks for Egypt air. This is the first time that Ameco won the bid for performing the B767 heavy maintenance for international customers after it has done a number of B737 & B747 airframe overhaul for international customers. Mr. Maher , the supervision representative of Egypt air, described the repair quality of Ameco as ¡®Outstanding¡¯. He highly praised AMECO for the teamwork spirit of our mechanics, good operational management and dedicated customer services, which impressed him most.

A step into the international market ¨C Ameco Aviation College's training courses 

During the period from August 27th to September 6th, Ameco Aviation college offered B777-200 run-up training courses to mechanics from Lufthansa Technik. This is the first time that Ameco undertook training for international customers. It symbolized that Ameco¡¯s product of maintenance training has entered the international market. Now Ameco Aviation College has acquired both CCAR-65 and ISO9001 certifications, which justified its entrance into the international market.

Ameco signed a long-term agreement of landing gear overhaul with China Hainan airlines

On August 23, with China Hainan airlines, Ameco signed a three-year agreement of landing gear overhaul & exchanging gears (21 sets of B737-300/400 landing gears). Mr. Heli, Production Support / Marketing Division of Ameco, and Mr. Ren Weidong, General Manager Purchasing of China Hainan, signed respectively on behalf of both sides in the agreement.
Mr. Heli stated that Hainan selected Ameco out of a number of subcontractors because it trusts Ameco. This reflects the long-term good cooperation between both sides.
According to market forecast, the next 3 years will witness a peak period of B737 landing gear overhaul. Last year, Ameco covered 100% of the workload in China.

Ameco successfully completed the special checks on Air China aircraft for sale

On August 21, the preparation work for Air China¡¯s selling two 747 ended with an aircraft transfer signing ceremony. During the preparation period, Ameco staff members spent only 40 days in documentation and special checks, which ensures the smooth readjustment of Air China fleet structure. Boeing representatives highly praised Ameco for its high work efficiency and good quality on special checks. The aircraft after special checks was thought of nearly having the same situation with that of aircraft delivered by Boeing to customers.

Ameco completed painting for 3 Qantas aircraft

On August 9, Ameco completed painting work for 3 aircraft of Qantas. So far Ameco has performed painting for totally19 747 and 767 aircraft for Qantas. After that, Ameco got positive feedback from the customers. ¡°Ameco staff members are doing very well in team work and serving customers. We fully trust Ameco and expect more extensive cooperation between both sides,¡± remarks Mr. Mocao, Chief Maintenance Representative of Qantas.

Component/APU maintenance symposium held by Ameco

July 11 to13, component/APU maintenance symposium of Ameco was held in Guizhou, Guiyang Province. Representatives from CAAC Safety & Technical Center, CAAC Huabei Administration Bureau Airworthiness Department, totally 20 domestic Airlines including Air China and newspaper offices participated the conference.
The conference started with a brief introduction on Ameco¡¯s capability in component repair/overhaul and situation of market development made by Mr. Hu Yuliang, Subdivision Manager, Marketing & Sales. After that, detailed presentations on Ameco component/APU services, training and market trend were made respectively by staff from Component Services Subdivision, Engine Services Subdivision and Ameco Aviation College.
Mr. Ma Kuiliang, General Manager & CEO of Ameco, mentioned in his speech that, the great achievements of Ameco resulted form the continuous support and help from CAAC and each brother Airlines, which he hope could be continued in the future. China¡¯s entry into WTO will definitely intensify the competition in aviation maintenance industry.  Only by seeking a development through cooperation, can Ameco¡¯s further development and win-win situation be ensured.
