Ameco offers the heavy check service for the 15th aircraft of Lufthansa Cargo

June 21st, Lufthansa Cargo (LCAG) and Ameco signed an agreement on B747 D-check. Mr. He Li, Mr. Heerdt, Ameco GMs, Mr. Knorr, LCAG Vice President and Mr. Rothenbaecher, Director of Tech. participate in the signature ceremony. This is the 15th aircraft of LCAG to be performed heavy check in Ameco.

　

First Mayor of Hamburg visits Ameco

First Mayor of Hamburg, Mr Ole von Beust , visited Ameco on May 20 with his 30-member delegation. The German guests visited the four-bay hangar and were briefed by General Manager Mr Heerdt on the joint venture's development over the past 12 years.

Ameco technician wins "May 1-Labour Medal"

In May, Ameco technician Weng Zhiguang won a national honor, the May 1-Labour Medal. A specialist in aircraft thermometers, Weng developed an thermoregulatory system rated as world-class achievement at a technical appraisal by the Chinese Academy of Metrological Science and the CAAC. The system is used to test and regulate temperature switches and multi-purpose electrical furnaces and led already to considerable saving for Ameco

Class opens at Ameco for on-job engineering post-graduates

Twenty-six people have started their post-graduate engineering courses at the first on-job aeronautic engineering class opened on April 30. The class is specially held for Ameco employees at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics under entrustment of Ameco. The class is intended to offer Ameco staff opportunities for further studies so as to satisfy the company's needs of high-level and multi-purpose engineering technicians and managers in its future development.

Landing gear agreement signed with China Southern

A long-term agreement for 1:1 landing gear exchange and overhaul was inked at the end of April between Ameco and China Southern Airlines in Guangzhou for the airlines' B737-300/500s. Ameco already started to provide the services.

Ameco Aviation College wins JAR147-certification

Ameco has become the only winner to date of the JAR147 certificate outside Europe.
The JAR147 certificate, issued by JAA, represents training standards for regular maintenance training institutes in Europe to ensure the same quality standards at all training units. At present, 21 European aircraft maintenance centers have been awarded this certificate.
Officials from the German LBA issued the JAR147 certificate to Ameco on April 23, which marks the internationalization of both management level and standards at Ameco's training center.

Ameco wins bid for D-check on Shenzhen Airlines' B737

A D-check for a B737-300 (B2933) of the Shenzhen Airlines was completed at Ameco on April 15. Ameco had been successful over sereral domestic and international competitors in a fierce bidding process.

Ameco appears at US MRO show for 2nd time

Ameco made its second appearance at the MRO show in Phoenix, United States, during April 9-11. At the show -- the largest in scale with more than 540 participants -- Ameco welcomed visitors from UPS, Evergreen, ELAL, Canada and many others and exchanged views on potential co-operation projects with the guests. The Ameco team included Mr. H. Seeger, Zheng Yan, Executive Directors, Zhang Yan, Director Marketing, and Pan Lihui, Regional Sales Manager for North America.

Air China's B747-400 business class upgrade

Ameco performed the first one of six aircraft modifications. New state-of-art seats, more comfortable and equipped with PC- power will make Air China's services, to or from Europe more attractive.

UPS places its B757s under line maintenance at Ameco

Starting from March 31, Ameco provides B757s line maintenance for UPS' flights in Beijing and Shanghai. Ameco started with UPS' B747s in April 2001. As of today, Ameco has line maintenance contract with 32 international airlines.

GM&CEO He Li said, What we sell is clients' interests

What we sell are in the interests of our clients -- this is the latest concept expounded by General Manager and Chief Executive Officer He Li at Ameco's working conference recently.
He said the clients would never be buying our products without seeing interests for themselves. When we are marketing, quoting to customers and providing services, we must let our customers stand to profits. Only this way our sales could be successful. But before, the belief was held that what we were selling are services and products, including overhauls of aircraft, engines and components.
Thus we should hold the market as our orientation and endevour to open up more domestic and international markets with clients as the focus. Every part of our work will have to be linked with serving the clients. He said the ideas of clients coming first and market being the orientation should be the principles for life at Ameco.

6C-check applied to Asiana's B767

Ameco's long-term airshow, the Asiana Airlines of South Korea, had one of its B767-300 (H7249) conducted a 6C-check plus full painting at Ameco. Ameco performed similar C- checks for the airlines' B767 aircraft before. Last year, a three-year aircraft-painting agreement was inked with Ameco.

Ameco participates in the Singapore Air Show

Ameco took part in the biannual Singapore Air Show from February 26 to March 03. During the show, Walter Heerdt ,General Manager of Ameco and Ok Hwan Cha Executive Vice-president of Asiana Airlines signed an agreement on a C-check for the airlines's B767.
Also Ameco General Manager Mr. Heerdt exchanged views with chairman of the Vietnam Airlines and his group. Ameco conducted 7C check for a B767 of the airline in January, winning appreciation for the maintenance quality. The Ameco' s booth was frequented by various Chinese and international visitors.

Ameco performs inspection for the fifth Boeing747 of Air Atlanta

Ameco completed C-check and modification for a Boeing747-300 of Air Atlanta which was wet-leased to IBERIA Airlines on January 10,2002. This is the fifth Boeing747 this company had in Ameco since April,2001.

　

Mr. He Li was appointed as General Manager & CEO of Ameco

The Board of Directors of Ameco has appointed Mr. He Li as the new General Manager & CEO. Mr. Ma Kuiliang, the former General Manager & CEO accepted a new top management position at Air China.
Mr. He Li was born in October of 1951. He graduated from Northwestern Polytechnic University.
Mr. He Li has started his career In Factory 101 and Beijing Maintenance Base, the predecessor of Ameco since 1977. His last position, from 1992 to the end of 2001, was Executive Director Support/Marketing Division of Ameco.

Mr. Zheng Yan, former Executive Director Finance of Ameco will succeed Mr. He Li as Executive Director Support/Marketing Division.
Executive Director Human Resources Division
Mr. Andreas Meister, Director Human Resources at Lufthansa Facility Management,has been assigned as the new Executive Director Human Resources In Ameco.
Executive Directors Engine, Components and Facilities
Mr. Marek Wernicke, former Manager CFM56 of Production Line in Lufthansa Technik, has been appointed by the Board of Directors as Executive Director.
Mr. li Jianjun, General Manager Engineering of Air China replaces Mr. Wang Tailun, the present holder of this position. Mr. Li is Mr. Wernicke's Chinese counterpart.

Ameco successfully performed 4C Check on Aeroflot Boeing 777

This June Lufthansa Technik signed a contract with Amceo Beijing for a 4C Check on a
Aeroflot B777.The aircraft with the Bermuda Registration VP-BAS arrived on July 21st.
Although this was the first "Heavy Check" for Aeroflot, including engine removal, under
the responsibility of MA the check was completed on time and to the satisfaction of
