German Secretary of State Mr. Ralf Nagel visited Ameco Beijing

   May 27,2004,German Secretary of State Mr. Ralf Nagel (Ministry of Transport) and his delegation accompanied by Mr. Lauer, Member of LH Executive Board visited Ameco Beijing .
  After a general introduction to Ameco Beijing was given by Dr. Hans Schmitz, General Manager of Ameco Beijing, Mr. Nagel asked some questions about Ameco Beijing’s technical qualifications, sales activities and operation status.
   Mr. Nagel also checked the current status of Ameco Beijing Training Center, which was established in the beginning of 1990s with the donation of DM20Mio. by German Government. Ameco Beijing Training Center now named Ameco Beijing Aviation College (AAC) which meets the requirements of JAR147, ISO9002 and CCAR66 brings significant benefit in training technicians for China civil aviation industry. Now it has become a model training institute in China and even in Asian region. Mr. He Li, CEO of Ameco Beijing expressed sincere gratitude for the great support made by German Government on behalf of 4,000 employees of Ameco and the students in Ameco Beijing Aviation College. 
  During the facility tour, Mr. Nagel and his delegation showed great interest in the facilities and the maintenance work done in the hangar. He personally talked to one apprentice in Ameco Beijing Aviation College and asked his feeling of working and being trained in Ameco.

LHT football team visited Ameco Beijing

 May22, a football match was held between LHT and Beijing based Aircraft Mainteannce & Engineering Co. in Beijing. 
   In addition to technical cooperation, an intensive cultural exchange is made between the both companies. This is already the third time for LHT football team to visit Ameco Beijing. 
   The representatives from LHT expected the football team of Ameco Beijing to return a visit within this year and also wisheed that both companies would deepen the cultural exchange.

Ameco Beijing held 31st Board of Director’s Meeting

  Ameco Beijing 31st BoD Meeting  was held in Rome from 13th to 14th of May 2004.
  According to the agenda, at first, GM and CEO, Mr. He Li reported the production operation of Ameco Beijing in 2003. The global aviation industry was seriously struck by Iraq war and SARS epidemic in 2003. The operational status of Ameco Beijing, especially in the fields of line maintenance and component services, had to encounter difficulties because of workload reducing. However, after carrying out the activities of Management Year, Cohesion Project and Corporate Culture Project, etc., Ameco Beijing kept the staff stability, reached the good operational results, and fulfilled all the targets of the Air Safety Agreement signed with Air China in 2003; the potential incident rate per 10,000 flight hours, delay rate, and some other targets therein reached best results in the history. Besides, it was the bright point of last year that we successfully resolved the FAA certificate crisis.
  Then, General Manager, Dr. Schmitz, reported the investment plans of Ameco Beijing in the future, whose successful implementation are going to benefit Ameco Beijing’s continuous and stable development.
  All members of BoD expressed their affirmation for Ameco Beijing fulfilling 16% increase of operational results after SARS epidemic, and they also praised the positive attitude and hard working when handling FAA certificate crisis. Meanwhile, they expressed their anxiety for the deficit in the first quarter of 2004, but all of them have confidences for Ameco Beijing’s management capability to change disadvantageous situation and resolve crisis.
  The deputy chairman, Mr. Lauer, affirmed the achievements Ameco Beijing reached as a technologic corporate. At the same time, he expressed his common understanding with the corporate value concept. (After several discussions during the Corporate Culture Project, we fixed on 8 value concepts, and all of them are based on one core concept, which is to realize the development among the benefit of customers, employees and shareholders in balance.) Mr. Lauer said that if Ameco Beijing could balance the relations among them, we must realize the positive development between revenue and cost. He hoped that could continuously enhance the cost control, and develop the core competitive capability oriented by market.
  Mr. Li Jiaxiang, the chairman of Ameco Beijing and President of Air China, put forward ardent expectations in his speech. He pointed out that, the scale of Air China fleet would increase to 280 sorties, and Ameco Beijing should enlarge the technical capability accordingly to meet the increasing maintenance requirements of Air China; Ameco Beijing should develop personnel qualification continuously, and take available incentive measures; continue to strengthen the cost control, in order to meet the requirements of market competition; the competition in international aviation industry is intense, Ameco Beijing should be brave in taking more challenges and improving the market rate.

Ameco Beijing attend USA MRO 4 times in succession

  From April 20th to 22nd, the USA MRO in 2004 was held in Atlanta, America by Aviation Week & Apace Technology. As the only one Chinese company, Ameco Beijing participated in this air show in the fourth time. Invited by organizing committee, SD director, Mr. Zheng Yan delivered a speech named “The Rising East”, in which he introduced the existing situation and prospect of China aviation maintenance market, the development of Ameco Beijing as well, which get the unanimous recognition of participants.
  In the position of Ameco Beijing, the grand Great Wall and vivid Chinese Knot enhanced each other’s beauty, which attracted many visitors. With our marketing business’s expansion and depth, the brand of Ameco Beijing won more and more recognition in international aviation market. During this air show, some managerial and professional personnel from United Airlines, Delta, American West Airlines, and some other airlines discussed the possible cooperation with Ameco Beijing in the future.

Ameco Beijing provides line maintenance service for new customers

   On 18th and 28th of April, Ameco Beijing will welcome another two international customers separately, one is Volga-Dnepr Airlines and Ukraine Aerosvit,  which follows the contracts with Asiana Airlines and Indonesia Hawk Airlines on B767and A330 line maintenance in this January.
  There are few examples in Ameco Beijing’s history that carry on line maintenance for international airlines high frequently, which reflected that we increased our customer consciousness, competition consciousness and risk consciousness.

To green hills and dedicate our love

  On 10th of April, 182 Ameco Beijing staff and their families participated in the planting activity “To Green hills and visit Ameco Beijing hope school” which was held by committee of league member. The planting area was a “school hill” near to Ameco Beijing Hoping School. From now on, it will be the green base of Ameco Beijing. 
  Before greening, we visited the study building financed by Ameco Beijing under construction and some other original buildings. Many staff take stationary goods for children there, and the party member from Ameco Beijing donated money for the children, and give them some stationary things also, which embodied the love from our staff

Foundation-laying for laboratory building of CAAC calibration and testing center
  On Apr. 8th, the foundation-laying ceremony for laboratory building of CAAC calibration and testing center (CTC) was held in Ameco Beijing. Concerned leaders from CAAC, Huabei administration, Air China, China National Accreditation Board of Laboratory (CNAL) and design & construction organization attended the ceremony.
  Mr. Wang Zhong, director of airworthiness certification department of CAAC expressed in his speech that the establishment of CTC got funds from CAAC and direct guidance from airworthiness certification department of CAAC, which shows CAAC’s determination to strengthen industry management and importance they attached to technical basis work. Meanwhile, it is also a new idea to reform measuring technology organizations that CAAC entrusted Air China to implement this project at Ameco Beijing, a joint venture between Air China and German Lufthansa. It is expected to find a way of little investment with many profits through taking original advantages of enterprise. He requested CTC to follow international operation standards.
  Mr. Ma Kui Liang, vice president of Air China expressed hearty thanks in his later speech to CAAC for their trust and promised that Air China will keep on concerning and supporting CTC’s construction and business development, try their best to accomplish the task assigned by CAAC. 
  Mr. He Li, General manager & CEO of Ameco Beijing said in his speech that it is great trust and honor to us that CAAC made the decision to set up CTC at Ameco Beijing, we will go all out to operate it well. 
   The laboratory building of CTC will be 4-floor structure of reinforced concrete with multiple function of collecting & distributing apparatus, calibration & repair, testing & analyzing, data control, technical documentation filing, academic communication, administration management and etc. The building will be modern with capability of temperature & humid control, area quakeproof, dustproof and explosion proof.

Ameco Beijing provides line-maintenance services for A340 of Lufthansa

The first flight of Lufthansa aircraft A340 from Munich to Beijing safely landed at 14:00 on March 30,2004. According to the contract, Ameco Beijing will performed line maintenance for this new flight of customer. The scheduled flight are three weekly return flights between Munich and Beijing.

Ameco Beijing held Public Relations training

  From March 12th to 13th, Ameco Beijing first held Public Relations Training. Over 30 employees from customer services, marketing & sales with GM-N participated. Professor Ma Junhai of Promo Co. Ltd delivered the course with the topic “marketing PR and media management”. Ameco Beijing personnel had completely mutual communications with Professor Ma. During the two days training, they got a very good chance to learn overall and deeply PR knowledge and work.
  Before the training at the 1st day, Mr. He Li, CEO and General Manager, came to the classroom very early in the morning and in his speech he said that it’s the 1st time in Ameco Beijing to hold such a special training, which showed that following the development of Ameco Beijing, our PR team should be more and more professional. We should learn more knowledge and skills and provide good services and artistic talents to our company. During the speech, Mr. He Li also reviewed the FAA audit crisis. He said it was a good example for PR to summarize how to handling in crisis and also emphasized it’s PR success involving whole staff of Ameco Beijing.

Ameco Beijing singed an agreement with ILFC on 2 B737-300s heavy maintenance 
  On March 3, 2004, Ameco Beijing and ILFC singed an agreement on 2 B737-300s heavy maintenance. Ameco Beijing performs 6C-check, landing gear overhaul, and installation of reinforced cockpit door and cabin configuration for 2 N-registered B737-300s of ILFC. These two aircraft will be leased to Inner Mongolia Branch of Air China when the check is finished.
  This will be the third and forth of aircraft leased by Air China Group from ILFC. More than one forth of ILFC’s 700 aircraft fleet is operated in Asia.
