Ameco Beijing completes cabin Mods on 16 A330s of Air China
On Jan. 3rd 2012, the business class modifications on 16 Airbus 330-200s of Air China were completed by Ameco Beijing, marking the end of a 6-month lasting project. Ameco will also carry out cabin upgrade on Boeing 777 fleet of Air China starting this summer.
It was the first time for Ameco to carry out cabin modifications on A330-200s. The working areas involved in cabin and entertainment systems, mainly including changes to all seats and floor, overhead bin modifications and passenger service unit reconfiguration. The work started from May end of 2011 at Ameco¡¯s A380 hangar. In order to narrow the layover impact to airline capacity in summer season, Ameco adjusted the layover schedules in advance and optimized the working processes. As a result, the modification TAT of every aircraft was significantly shortened and totally saving 70 days for the project.
Ameco is capable of providing cabin modification on Boeing 737/747/767/777£¬Airbus 340/330 aircraft and services domestic and international customers with tailored solutions.

Ameco outstations get more new customers
Starting from January 2012, Ameco Chongqing station and Guangzhou station respectively provide Boeing 747 cargo aircraft of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines with comprehensive line maintenance service, with 4 flights weekly in Chongqing and 2 flights per week in Guangzhou.
Over recent years, Ameco has achieved a rapid development in line maintenance network. Last year witnessed three newly built-up outstations, thus lifting the number of such outstations up to six, which made line maintenance or even letter checks by Ameco available to customers not only in Beijing, but also in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Tianjin, Qingdao and Chengdu.

Ameco Chongqing station ushered the first customer
November 27th 2011, along with the opening of the route between Doha and Chongqing by Qatar Airways, Ameco Chongqing station ushered its first line maintenance customer. From now on, Ameco will provide line maintenance service for Airbus 330 in Jiangbei international airport, each week three times.
Chongqing station is the sixth line maintenance station after shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Tianjin and Qingdao. It began to be built in September 2011. Under great support and assistance of Air China Chongqing Branch each work was performed smoothly. The establishment of Chongqing station further improved Ameco outstation¡¯s maintenance net and enhance the market competitiveness. Now, Ameco is negotiating with several customers and it is expected that Chongqing will take over more tasks next year.

Ameco participates in Dubai Airshow
The 12th Dubai Airshow took place from November 13 to 17, 2011 in Dubai, UAE. As the strongest civil aviation maintenance enterprise in China, Ameco has been paying great attention to the Middle East and is now providing aircraft maintenance services for about 10 airlines in this region. Ameco¡¯s exhibition booth, which showed not only Ameco¡¯s strength on maintenance, but its image as an international brand as well, enjoyed high regard at the Show. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Emir of Dubai visited Ameco¡¯s exhibition booth where staff of Ameco introduced the development and changes of Ameco to him as well as other guests including top management from airlines like DAW, Etihad Airways, Maximus Air, JAL, to name a few.
Ameco¡¯s growth also attracted great attention from international media, among which journalists from well-known magazines in the industry like ATW, Aviation Week and ITP dropped by and interviewed; besides, ShowNews reported the development of Ameco on new capabilities.

Ameco participated in MRO Asia 2011
MRO Asia Conference & Exhibition organized by Aviation Week was held in China National Convention Center from November 9 to 10, 2011. As a domestic leading MRO enterprise, Ameco took part in the exhibition and set up the booth. Thanks to the rapid development of Asian aviation market, the exhibition attracted Asian and global MRO enterprises in Beijing to discuss future development and motivation of MRO market through the MRO forum with the theme of "win-win cooperation of Asia¡¯s successful strategy". Ameco communicated with representatives from Boeing, Lufthansa and other companies respectively on the Asia Pacific MRO business trend, forecast as well as the future market development. Dr. Heizner, the company¡¯s general manager and CEO, accepted exclusive interview of the organizer¡¯s media on future direction of the MRO market.
The company sent personnel from departments of marketing & sales, safety & quality and material to participate in the exhibition for full negotiation and communication with domestic and foreign peers and related enterprises, as well as new and old customers. Yang Yang, manager of Safety Office (QM-L), delivered a speech with the theme of "safety management system (SMS)" on the forum, receiving favorable comments from the participants.

A380 aircraft settled in Ameco¡¯s A380 hangar
On November 21, 2011, China Southern Airlines¡¯ A380 aircraft, being the first one after the completion of the hangar, was slowly drawn into the A380 hangar of Ameco Beijing for some routine work. A380 aircraft first entering into the hangar of Ameco is a test for relative facilities and equipments as well.
Ameco invested 710 million yuan to build the A380 hangar, which was put into use in 2008. As a supporting project for Beijing Capital Airport¡¯s terminal 3, the hangar provides convenient and fast repair service for Chinese and foreign customers based on its convenient location and good facilities.

Ameco first installs Nitrogen Generation System on Boeing 777
Ameco started to provide the Nitrogen Generation System (NGS) modification on a Boeing777 from the middle of November, 2011.
According to the request of FAA and EASA, all registered aircraft under the two administrations shall install NGS ahead of December 2017 and September 2022.? NGS substantially reduces aircraft center fuel tank flammability by introducing nitrogen-enriched air to lower the oxygen concentration. The safety of aircraft currently in-service can be enhanced after NGS modification.

Ameco first complets in-flight WLAN on Boeing 737-800
November 11th, 2011, Ameco Beijing became the first in China Civil Aviation Industry to install in-flight WLAN on Air China¡¯s Boeing 737-800. Air China accordingly became the first to provide such a service on board in China.
Due to the authorized China Civil Aviation modification design approval (MDA), Ameco Beijing installs server in aircraft electronic cabin with more entertainment programs stored in server for passengers to browse more programs via WLAN with portable set.

Ameco attended China Aviation Maintenance Summit and first Aviation Maintenance Expo
From Oct. 11 to 14, 2011, China Aviation Maintenance Summit and first China International Aviation Maintenance Engineering and Service Technology Expo were held in Xiamen. More than 100 top management leaders from the government, domestic airlines, and major MRO enterprises participated in the summit. The first aviation maintenance expo covers the area of 120 thousand square meters, including 6 subjects ranging from aviation maintenance, material and layout, equipment and tooling, aviation avionics and electronics, aviation information technology, to aviation service training, attracting 122 enterprises from the globe.
Zhu Xiao, Ameco Sales and Supply Division (SD) Executive Director, as the conference president of aviation maintenance summit, represented Ameco to deliver the theme speech on ¡°Build up an international MRO enterprise with market orientation¡±, receiving appreciation from the participants.
In his speech, Mr. Zhu mentioned that the macro-economy impacted by the sovereign-debt crisis, disaster and turbulence, decrease of consumption level, and new economy entity foam is still bleak, resulting in the unstable status of aviation passenger and cargo market demand. It is expected that the profitability status of the global civil aviation industry and Chinese civil aviation industry in this year will decline. With regards to the fluctuation of aviation transportation industry, the future of MRO industry is comparatively optimistic. Ameco Beijing participates in the 10th Moscow Airshow
The 10th Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon (hereafter referred to as Moscow Air Show) took place since 16 August to 21 August 2011 in Zhukovsky, which attracted over 800 exhibitors from 40 countries. Ameco established an exhibition booth with an area of 50 square meters in international exhibition hall. General Manager Hu Yuliang led the participating team together with several appointed employees. It¡¯s already the fourth time for Ameco as one of the few Chinese enterprises to attend it, which attracted particular attention on the exhibition.
During the exhibition, general manager Mr. Hu and Zhu Xiao, Executive Director from Sales and Supply Division as well as other marketing and sales staff met with regular customers such as Transaero Airlines, Aerosvit Airlines, Air Bridges Cargo etc., and had closely discussions on engine, airframe and landing gear for further cooperation. Representatives from Russian Sky Express also came to Ameco¡¯s booth expressing willingness to cooperate with Ameco in the area of airframe and landing gear maintenance for Airbus A320, A319 and Boeing 757. Meanwhile, Ameco conducted in-depth discussions on jointly development of the Russian/ the Commonwealth of the independent States (CIS) market with Russian local MRO enterprises. Ameco, as an MRO enterprise from the Chinese mainland, took the lead to enter the Russian/ CIS market since 2000, and established a good brand with excellent services. Currently, Ameco has established long-term and stable cooperation relationships with several customers in the region and continually pushed products such as airframe, engine, landing gear etc. to this market. Moscow Air Show is founded since 1993 and is held every two years, whose international influence has been catching up with British Farnborough Air Show and Paris AirShow.

Ameco Beijing¡¯s Guangzhou station adds new customers
Ameco Beijing's Guangzhou station added Turkish Airlines as the new line maintenance customer on June 20th, 2011. Guangzhou station provides line maintenance and releasing for the carrier¡¯s Boeing 777. There¡¯re 3 flights per week. In April, Ameco signed an agreement with Turkish Airlines to provide line maintenance in Beijing and Shanghai. Now the service extended to Guangzhou station.

June 15th, 2011, Ameco Beijing completed Air China's first A330 aircraft IPTE project that involved in the cabin and entertainment system. As planned, Ameco Beijing will perform IPTE for total 16 Air China A330 aircraft by the end of this year.

Ameco Beijing draws attention in MRO Americas 2011
The annual MRO Americas Conference and Exhibition 2011 was held from April 12 to 14 in Miami, Florida. It attracted nearly a thousand professional participants to attend, including government officials from FAA and others in the fields of air transportation, maintenance and manufacturing, as well as hundreds of MRO suppliers, original equipment manufacturers, spare parts suppliers to participate in the exhibition. Ameco Beijing, as the only maintenance supplier from Mainland China, attended the conference and exhibition. In recent years, Ameco Beijing has been successful in market development in the North American, providing services including airframe overhauls, cabin upgrade & modifications, engine overhauls and line maintenance for a number of fleets of the major airlines in the region, with a increasing number of customers. At the exhibition, Ameco Beijing received much attention. For example, top leaders of Aviation Week Group, one of the exhibition's organizers, visited the General Manager and CEO, Dr. Heizner, and expressed hope to visit Ameco Beijing by the end of this year. Ameco Beijing Provides Line Maintenance Services to Singapore Airlines
Since March, Ameco Beijing has been providing line maintenance services including aircraft releasing to Singapore Airlines in Beijing. Singapore Airlines operates Boeing 777 aircraft on Singapore-Beijing route, with 21 flights per week. This is the first cooperation between the two companies in the respect of line maintenance. Besides more than 50 line maintenance customers in Beijing base, Ameco Beijing is expanding its maintenance network in the main airline traffic hubs as Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Ameco Beijing participated in Asian Aerospace 2011 in Hong Kong
Asian Aerospace International Expo and Congress 2011 (Asian Aerospace 2011) was held in Hong Kong's Asia World Expo from March 8 to 10, which drew 270 exhibitors from 32 countries and regions worldwide. Ameco Beijing and Air China Technics participated in the expo by launching a joint stand.
Wang Changshun, Deputy Director of CAAC, Wang Yinxiang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of China National Aviation Holding Company, Zhou Kaixuan, Deputy Director of CAAC's Flight Standards Department and He Li, Deputy President of Air China were present at Ameco Beijing's stand; The senior managers or representatives from Cathay Pacific Airways, Air Macau, Shenzhen Airlines, Hainan Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Delta Air Lines also paid visits in succession, which helped increase mutual understanding and exchanges on cooperation between the airlines and Ameco Beijing.
On the first day of the expo, SD Executive Director Zhu Xiao attended the special meeting themed "China Builds a Regional MRO Center" as one of the guest speakers. At the meeting, Zhou Kaixuan, Deputy Director of CAAC"s Flight Standards Department, first delivered a speech regarding the recent conditions of China's civil aviation industry as well as the objectives, tasks and directions for the industry, highlighting the objectives and tasks defined as "securing sustained safety", "continuously deepening maintenance quality to make the company grow stronger" and "improving legal construction". Years of effort resulted in Ameco Beijing's sound interaction with a number of international media in information communication. During the expo, Ameco Beijing also gained favor with the media. Asian Aerospace 2011 showcased the technological achievements and innovation of the industry, including the latest progresses in China Commercial Aircraft?'s C919 aircraft project and Boeing's single and double-channel aircraft projects. For instance, Air China bought five Boeing 747-8 intercontinental passenger aircrafts; Hainan Airlines signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding the purchase of 38 Boeing aircrafts and ten business aircraft and Cathay Pacific Airways reached purchase agreements respectively with Airbus and Boeing. In 2011, China's airlines will introduce more than 200 large-size transport aircraft; In 2015, China's large-size transport aircraft in the civil aviation system will increase to 2,890 sets while the maintenance industry will see a market size of 45 billion yuan. Ameco Beijing successfully secured Air China's overseas Chinese evacuation task
Air China's last chartered flight for evacuation of overseas Chinese from Libya safely arrived in Beijing at 15:21 on March 5, marking that Ameco Beijing completed the task of securing Air China's chartered flight mission for overseas Chinese evacuation. During the 11 days from February 23 to March 5, Ameco Beijing secured 28 flights for overseas Chinese evacuation, ensuring the safe and normal operation of all the chartered flights.

Approved by board of Ameco Beijing, since January 1st 2011, Dr. Andreas Heizner takes the position as General Manager & CEO of Ameco Beijing.
Dr. Heizner, born on December 4 1954, joined Lufthansa on December 1st 1990. He was successively appointed in several positions ranging from Group Leader of Layover Schedule Overhaul in Hamburg, Group Leader of Maintenance Support Aircraft Maintenance in Frankfurt, department manager, General Manager (narrow-body). From 2003 to 2006 he was appointed as President & CEO of LHT Philippines. From 2007 till now, he took the position as Senior Vice President of Aircraft Base Maintenance in Hamburg
